Given how popular his city anthem has become, it's a bit surprising that Mr. Midas hasnt enlisted a chorus to walk behind him and chant the hook to his uber-catchy Run My Town. The killer single released early from his full-length album Son of the Crack Era, Run My Town gave an immediate glimpse into the authentic material that Midas had planned for the record and he more than delivered on that promise.
The word mambo, similarly to other Afroamerican musical denominations as conga, milonga, bomba, tumba, tambo, tango, cumbé, cumbia and candombe, denotes an African origin, particularly from Congo. Chayin Rubio formed in his colony a small band composed of friends, with whom they played at particular parties where they were invited in their hometown, but this was not enough for the singer-songwriter, so, he loaded his guitar and dedicated himself to travel by different cities like Hermosillo, Los Mochis, Nogales among others, to make known their songs and longing to be heard by some radio station of those places.
