Midnight Riot have done more than most to shape and define the sound of contemporary disco and disco-house, so a new compilation from the label is always gonna be worth checking and this latest offering doesn't disappoint. It opens with the soaring 'Music' from Audiowhores and Groove Assassin a two-for-one deal that sets out the stall for an album that packs contributions from many scene faves including the likes of Suki Soul, Jet Boot Jack, Jaegerossa, Yam Who?. Groovemasta and Reece Johnson. The compilers have still found room to include cuts from some lesser-known names, though - and there's even an appearance by first-gen disco diva Carol Jiani (best known for 1980's 'Hit N Run Lover'), whose fine tonsils flex all over Rogajam's 'Get On The Dancefloor'. All told, it's a Saturday night thrill-a-thon from start to finish.
