American-based DJ remix service that operated from 1998 to 2011. Culture Shock focussed on mostly on Rock-based remixes, though it did venture out some. It was acquired by Select Mix in June of 2014, and new issues have been ongoing, specifically in the Retro Shock, Mash-Ups, and Rock Shock series. Culture Shock was founded by Aaron Scofield and C.L. McSpadden of Powerhouse Records fame. Select Mix Retro Shock Vol. 04 displays a variety of stylistic content of the material, that is, will be, and perhaps will be, just a discovery! We have, in effect, given these many talented artists another way to promote their songs. Mix show and club DJs are now playing songs by these artists that they probably wouldn't have normally. As well as an addition to your collection and archives!
