Techno Club Classix Vol. 1" marks the start of a new CD series that revives a time when trance made an eternal pact with fog machines, sweaty dancefloors and endless nights. Two names immediately stand out: "Talla 2XLC" and "Quicksilver". For once, this is a classic revival with an announcement - and that's exactly the idea. Instead of relying on trendy sounds, the focus here is on feeling, melody and that very special trance energy.
The double CD delivers two DJ sets that are not simply defined by tracklists, but by flow. You quickly realize: this is not a blunt mix, but a curated one. The transitions are spot-on, the dramaturgy builds up neatly and tracks keep popping up that make you think: "Oh great, I completely forgot about that one." It's precisely this moment that makes it so appealing. Between emotional breakdowns, classic synth lines and driving kicks, a sound is created that is both nostalgic and surprisingly fresh. What's particularly exciting is how differently the two sets work - while one focuses more on euphoric flights of fancy, the other moves towards club prime time with more pressure. Nevertheless, the overall package remains coherent and seems to have been cast from a single mold.
