The rise of DJ Make My Day. Hailing from the mean streets of North Toronto, DJ Make My Day began crate-digging rare-groove vinyl in Starsound/Traxx, Play De Record, Fresh. By the late 1980s, after a fateful Ibiza birthday trip alongside his crew, DJ Make My Day returned home and co-founded the legendary Ghettoblaster nights. Legend has it he still wields that trance mojo. Soon enough, he launched Accumulation Records in 1989, minting global dance classics with monsters like Is It Over Yet, solidifying his spot in the pantheon of only but a handful of true underground masterminds. By the mid‑90s, DJ Make My Day unleashed his two-hour G.O.A.T. Essential Mix on CFNY Radio Burlington. A widely acclaimed as the greatest Essential Mix ever, mixing trance, film scores, and psychedelia into one sun-blushed sonic journey.
