This album encapsulates a period in the late 50s and early 60s when jazz influenced sounds merged with pop and formed a unique blend of glamour fused with music and entertainment. Good looking crooners like Bobby Darin, Tom Jones effectively invented the term ‘Cool’ along with The Rat Pack (Dean Martin Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr) along with their ‘kid brother’ Paul Anka who would eventually write Sinatra’s classic My Way.
These cool cats were accompanied by some of the most glamourous women from all over the World who for the first were finding there own success from the Bondess excitement of Shirley Bassey, to the all American sweetheart sound and look of Doris Day, the sexy French voice of Francois Hardy
and the sultry Girl From Ipenema. Many of them were real Diamond Dolls summed beautifully by Marilyn Monroe.
Great times, great music when Cool was born!
