After leaving Scepter, Dionne Warwick floundered for a while as she sought the production and arranging assistance she needed to return to her past heights. She didnt get it on this release, as songs like Love Me One More Time were tentatively sung, burdened with unimpressive lyrics, or poorly produced. Warwick was also experiencing personal problems and experimenting with adding an e to her last name, neither of which helped the situation.
Ecstasy, Passion & Pain was a disco band. Their most successful songs are Touch and Go and Ask Me. Margaret Marie Margie Joseph is an American R&B, soul and gospel singer.
A real snake charmer with a sinewy, twisting percussion rhythm, Get Me Back on Time, Engine Number 9 demonstrates Kenny Gamble and Leon Huffs unique song-tailoring talents; instead of making the singer fit their groove, Gamble and Huff created with the singers strengths in mind. Blues guitarist Jimmy Johnson did a blues remake but Pickett's original reigns supreme.
