Quincy – Here We Come is an album led by trumpeter Benny Bailey, saxophonist Åke Persson and drummer Joe Harris featuring performances recorded in Sweden in 1959 and originally released on the Swedish Metronome label. The album was released in the US as The Music of Quincy Jones on Argo Records.
Clifford Brown started playing trumpet at school after becoming fascinated with the shiny trumpet his father owned. At age thirteen, upon entering senior high, his father bought him his own trumpet and provided him with private lessons.
Theodore Shaw Wilson was an American jazz pianist. Described by critic Scott Yanow as the definitive swing pianist, Wilson's sophisticated and elegant style was featured on the records of many of the biggest names in jazz, including Louis Armstrong, Lena Horne, Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald. With Goodman, he was one of the first black musicians to appear prominently with white musicians.
